Friends of the Loxahatchee River Meeting Presentation by Cameron Jaggard
Join the River Center in welcoming Cameron Jaggard, Principal Associate for the Pew Charitable Trusts, for his presentation on Friday, August 4th. His topic entitled “The Oceans are Changing, How Do We Keep Up?” will discuss how fish and other animals are adapting to our changing oceans and how thinking like a fisherman can protect healthy marine ecosystems and recreation in Florida for future generations. Cameron Jaggard is a Principal Associate with The Pew Charitable Trusts, U.S. Oceans, Southeast Team. During his more than seven years with Pew, Cameron has worked on a variety of campaigns to reduce bycatch in the U.S. pelagic longline fishery, protect Florida’s forage fish, and otherwise advance a big picture approach to fishery management. Before joining Pew, Cameron worked on salmon conservation at the Institute for Fisheries Resources in San Francisco, CA and as an environmental consultant in Florida. Cameron holds a BA in Environmental Policy from Rollins College and an environmental science certificate from Florida Atlantic University. In his free time he likes to surf, fish, dive, and mountain bike near his hometown of Tequesta, FL.
