The River Center offers a variety of programs for school groups, camp field trips and homeschool groups.
Enjoy seasonal family programs that are enjoyable for the whole family! Family Seine & Snorkel, Fishing Clinics, Storytime and Loxahatchee by Night Campfires are just some of the programs that we offer.
Children ages 6-18 will explore the Loxahatchee River from the ocean’s beautiful reefs to the freshwater cypress swamps at Riverbend Park in a safe, personal environment. Adventurers will get “hands-on” with the Loxahatchee, hiking & kayaking to diverse local habitats, participating in exciting eco-games, and seining and dip netting in the clear waters of Jupiter! Four different age levels for camps available.
Kids ages 0-5 love story time at the River Center with short books, songs and a touch tank! Complimentary coffee for adults. Every Thursday from 9:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m. Check calendar for extended story time dates. No RSVP required. Program is free. Donations are always appreciated.
Presented by the Friends of the Loxahatchee River, on the first Friday of every month (except January and July), engaging speakers from different agencies, universities and organizations present up to date information about the Loxahatchee River and south Florida habitats. A light lunch is provided, please RSVP. Donations are appreciated. Check calendar for event dates and topics.
During the fall and spring months, the River Center presents a series of hands-on adult education learning experiences. Enjoy and appreciate a “field trip” more than you ever did as a kid!
