The River Center offers a variety of programs for school groups, camp field trips and homeschool groups.
Enjoy seasonal family programs that are enjoyable for the whole family! Family Seine & Snorkel, Fishing Clinics, Storytime and Loxahatchee by Night Campfires are just some of the programs that we offer.
The River Center is offering virtual field trip programs this Fall! On select Wednesdays our River Center educators are providing specific topics for our virtual experiences.
Children have a captivating experience discovering Florida ecosystems, collecting fascinating marine critters, and getting out on the water around Burt Reynolds Park! With 4 counselors and just 12-16 campers per week, kids will explore the waterways of Jupiter, enjoy outdoor fun around Burt Reynolds Park, and indoor activities at the River Center in a safe, personal environment. Camp for the 2021 season will have important modifications and precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of our campers, volunteers, and staff members.
Kids ages 0-5 love story time at the River Center with short books, songs and a touch tank! Select Thursdays from 10:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Check calendar for extended story time dates. RSVP is required. Program is free. Donations are always appreciated.
Presented on the first Friday of every month (except January and July), engaging speakers from different agencies, universities and organizations present up to date information about the Loxahatchee River and south Florida habitats. A light lunch is provided, please RSVP. Donations are appreciated. Check calendar for event dates and topics.
During the fall and spring months, the River Center presents a series of hands-on outdoor excursion. Enjoy either kayak trips or nature walks in natural areas throughout the Loxahatchee River Watershed.
The River Center continues to collaborate with the AustinBlu Foundation and US Coast Guard Auxiliary “Flotilla 52” to provide a series of Boating Safely Classes targeted specifically to young boaters in our community. This class is recommended for people 12 years and up. The entire class takes place in the classroom, lecture-style. Participants are required to pass a test to receive their Boater Safety Card from FWC.
Join the River Center for our upcoming Homeschool Workshops. Interested participants are required to individually pre-register for each program. Space is limited. These workshops are drop-off only.
