In this lesson students will take a guided walk through the River Center Garden using their Nature Baggies to help them discover and investigate wildlife along the way. Students will use River Center binoculars while exploring, and take place in a group nature craft at the end of class. All equipment is provided; Closed-toe shoes, sunscreen, and water bottle are required, hat and sunglasses are recommended.

In this lesson students will learn the purpose of a leaf, how plants use them, how animals use them, and their basic functions. Students will venture into the River Center Garden to see leaves in action and collect a few to create various leaf crafts. This is a wildlife encounter class meeting some of the creepiest crawliest animals, of Florida and beyond, in spirit of Halloween! Students will have the opportunity to touch some of our creepy critters!

In this lesson students will learn how clouds are formed, what natural factors influence them, and how to identify cloud types outside. Students will also conduct a cloud forming experiment in our weather lab.

In this lesson students will learn about various wildlife tracks & scat. Students will learn how to identify common wildlife tracks/scat and learn how use this knowledge while spending time outdoors. Students will understand how other animals can use these clues in hunting and how native tribes used these clues for survival.

Location: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area
In this lesson students will learn how to look for birds in the wild and observe them in their natural habitats. Students will learn how to identify common birds of our area and practice using binoculars to find wildlife. This is an off-site class. Closed-toe shoes and water bottle required.

Students learn all about the various rocks on earth, what they are, how they form, and what we can learn from them. They will learn the rock cycle, where specific rocks can be found, and what changes and shapes rocks over time. Students will conduct rock experiments to identify different types of rocks and play a rock cycle game!

In this lesson students will learn what a pollinator is, how pollinators benefit their ecosystems, what types of creatures can be pollinators, common pollinators in our back yard, and things we can do to protect pollinators. This lesson will include a pollinators take home craft!

Join us in learning all about bones, teeth and animal survival! We will be investigating how to identify bones and teeth of animals and learn what makes them unique to each species, while also discussing the various environmental needs of herbivores, omnivores and carnivores. At the end of class we will be dissecting owl pellets in our Bone Lab!

In this lesson students will conduct experiments to witness and learn about various chemical reactions. Students will be provided materials to conduct individual experiments at their table and collective experiments as a group. Some experiments will be take-home optional, all student experiments will be assisted by leaders and volunteers.

In this lesson students will learn what a flower is, how plants use them, how animals use them and why they are important to us. Students will take a guided walk through the Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area trails collecting flowers to craft with and discovering animals that use flowers in nature.

Location: Jupiter Inlet Lighthouse Outstanding Natural Area
This lesson will focus on the eerie effects of erosion to our shores and coastlines and discuss ways to mitigate erosion damage. The class will be looking as sites where erosion is a big issue and areas where living shorelines were installed to reduce erosion damage. Students will take part in erosion demos, pot mangroves, and take home an erosion experiment.
