After School Book Club

📖🌱Calling all nature-loving readers!

Join us on Wednesday, November 12th from 4:30 to 6pm for our next afterschool book club for kids in grades 3-8. This month’s book will be THE END OF THE WILD by Nicole Helget. 11-year old Fern’s home borders a pristine forest, where her family hunts and forages for food. But when a fracking company rolls into town, Fern realizes that her special grove could be ripped away, and no one else seems to care.

At our book club meeting we will discuss the book, meet local food forest and foraging expert Amanda Pike and participate in a hands-on activity inspired by the book.

You can find THE END OF THE WILD at our local library or at a bookseller of your choice. Readers should finish the book before the meeting.
